The Government requested the Ministry of Public Security to consider to expand list of countries and territories that are granted e-visas for tourists entering Vietnam.
The Government Office has just issued Notice No. 262 dated August 23 on Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam’s opinions at a meeting of the State Steering Committee on Tourism in 2022, discussing implementation of solutions to promote tourism.
Accordingly, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam asked the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to review activities of small and medium-sized tourism businesses and business households affected by the Covid-19 pandemic to propose appropriate policies and solutions. At the same time, the Ministry of Finance urgently coordinates with the Ministry of Finance to solve problems to disburse from Tourism Development Support Fund to serve the tasks of promoting tourism. The expansion of the list of countries whose citizens are allowed to pilot e-visas and border gates permitting foreigners to enter and exit with e-visas has demonstrated their determination to reform visa administration, facilitate conditions for foreigners to enter Vietnam in order to attract investment and cooperation, especially contributing to promoting and developing tourism into a key economic sector.
